The front cover is not just the fish head. It includes the fish head plus a short front section of the fish body. Remove this cap first to reveal the telescopic rod stored inside the main fish-body handle.
Remove the Front Fish-Shaped Cap
Detach the fish head together with its short body section.
Extend the Telescopic Rod
Pull the telescopic carbon-fiber rod outward from inside the fish-body handle.
Install the Reel
The spinning reel mounts to the exposed reel seat only after the rod has been opened.
